Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 10, 2026 / Last Updated: August 10, 2026

I. About Us

Mentyy.co ("we," "us," or the "Service") is an online directory that helps college students find licensed mental health professionals near them. This Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the limited circumstances in which we disclose it.

We serve two groups of users, and this Policy addresses both:

  • Individual college students, generally between the ages of 18 and 25, seeking to be connected with a licensed mental health professional.

  • Licensed mental health professionals who list themselves in our directory.

We are not a health care provider. We do not provide therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice, and we are not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA. Using this Service does not create a therapist-patient relationship.

This Service is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911.

II. Information We Collect

A. From Students

We collect only the contact information you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Mailing address

  • Date of birth

We do not ask you for, and you should not send us, any information about your symptoms, diagnosis, treatment history, insurance, or medical records.

You may filter therapists by specialty, location, or other criteria. We send your selected filters to the licensed mental health professional(s) you choose. We may retain your filter selections in a form linked to you to facilitate your use of the Service.

B. From Licensed Mental Health Professionals

We collect information necessary to create and maintain a directory listing, including:

  • Name

  • Professional credentials, including license type and number

  • Practice name and address

  • Business email address and telephone number

  • Areas of specialty, populations served, modalities, languages

  • Insurance accepted, fee range, telehealth availability, photograph, biography

Therapist listing information is intended for public display in our directory.

C. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the site, our service providers may automatically collect IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring URL. We use this only to operate, secure, and improve the Service. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising technologies on this site.

III. How We Use Information

We use the information described above only to:

  • Display the therapist directory and allow students to search and filter it

  • Transmit a student's contact information to a therapist whom the student has affirmatively selected

  • Verify therapist licensure and maintain the accuracy of directory listings

  • Communicate with users about their account, a request they submitted, or a change to the Service

  • Secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain records

  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use personal information to build consumer profiles, to make automated decisions about individuals, or for targeted advertising.

IV. How We Disclose Information

A. Student Contact Information to a Selected Therapist

When a student selects a therapist, we transmit that student's information to the selected therapist so the therapist can respond directly. We do this only at the student's direction and only with respect to the therapist the student selects.

Once we transmit the student’s information to a therapist, that therapist controls it independently. The therapist's own privacy practices and laws applicable to the therapist’s practice govern their handling of the student’s information from that point forward. We do not control, and are not responsible for, a therapist's privacy practices or compliance with applicable law. Students should review the therapist's notice of privacy practices before beginning treatment.

B. Service Providers

We disclose personal information to vendors that perform services for us, such as website hosting, email delivery, and data storage, solely to perform those services on our behalf. These vendors are contractually prohibited from using personal information for any other purpose.

C. Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose personal information where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, to establish or defend legal claims, or to prevent imminent harm to any person.

D. Business Transfer

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice on this site before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

V. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Information

We do not sell personal information.

We do not rent, trade, or license personal information.

We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.

The transmission of a student's contact information to a therapist the student has selected is made at the student's direction, for the purpose the student requested, and is not a sale.

We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months.

VI. Users Under 17

Students must be at least 17 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. Licensed Mental Health Professionals may be required to obtain parental consent prior to providing services to a student under age 18.

This Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.

VII. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain privacy rights, including:

  • The right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you

  • The right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information

  • The right to request that we delete your personal information

  • The right to ask us not to transmit your contact information to any additional therapists

To exercise any of these rights, contact us as described below.

You may unsubscribe or opt out of non-essential email from us using the link in any message.

We cannot retrieve or delete information that has already been transmitted to a therapist at the student’s direction. To request deletion of information held by a therapist, a student must contact that therapist directly.

Therapists may update or remove their directory listing at any time by contacting us as described below.

VIII. Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to us over the internet.

IX. Data Retention

We retain student contact information only as long as necessary to provide the Service and for a reasonable period thereafter.

We retain therapist listing information for as long as the therapist maintains an active listing and for a reasonable period thereafter.

When personal information is no longer needed, we destroy it in a manner consistent with applicable law.

X. Third-Party Websites

Our directory may link to therapist websites, scheduling tools, or other third-party resources. We do not control those sites, and this Policy does not apply to them. Review the privacy policy of any third-party site before providing information to it.

XI. Location of Processing

We operate the Service from the United States and store personal information on servers located in the United States. We do not knowingly direct the Service to individuals located outside the United States.

XII. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the revised Policy here with a new "Last Updated" date. If the change materially affects how we use information you have already provided, we will provide notice and an opportunity to opt out before the change takes effect.
